Vanessa was born in Lancashire but grew up in Australia. Vanessa is an RTS nominated actress and is best known for playing mechanic Rosie Cartwright in ITV’s Heartbeat  for 4 years and as ditzy science teacher Sue Spark in Waterloo Road. Most recently she starred as Esther Hargraves in Coronation Street and is soon to be seen in the Jimmy Saville drama The Reckoning. Other credits include Emmerdale, Unforgetten and Liar.

Aged 17 Vanessa was a guest on ‘The Trisha Show‘ moaning about her then boyfriend’s obsession with flirting with her mother!
